Drain Cleaning in Phoenix, Explained
Most clogs in Phoenix homes come down to four things: grease and food in the kitchen line, hair and soap scum in tubs and showers, wipes and paper in the toilet line, and roots or scale in the main line out to the street. Each one gets cleared a different way, which is why we scope the line before we decide how to attack it.
A drain that's slow but still moving is usually a partial blockage close to the fixture. A drain that backs up into another fixture, like a shower filling when you flush, means the problem is further down where the lines join. Water coming up in the lowest drain in the house is a main-line issue and it's worth calling sooner rather than later.
What We Clear
- Kitchen sinks and disposals, including the grease line under the slab
- Bathroom sinks, tubs and showers
- Toilets and toilet drain lines
- Laundry standpipes and floor drains
- Main sewer lines from the house clean-out to the street tap
- Outdoor and patio drains that fill up during monsoon storms
How the $99 First-Time Special Works
New residential customers get one drain cleared for $99, and we run a camera through the line at no extra charge. The camera is the part most companies skip. It shows us whether the clog was a one-time thing or a symptom of a bellied pipe, a root intrusion or a cracked section that's going to keep catching debris. You'll see the footage yourself, and we'll tell you plainly whether it's anything to worry about. Most of the time it isn't.
If the line needs more than a standard cable can handle, we'll explain why before doing anything else. No surprise charges.
Snaking vs. Hydro Jetting
A cable machine (a "snake") cuts through or pulls out a blockage. It's the right tool for most household clogs and it's what the $99 special covers. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scrub the pipe walls clean, and it's what we recommend for lines that clog repeatedly, kitchen lines packed with years of grease, or main lines with root growth. If your drain has been cleared more than once in the last year, jetting usually ends the cycle. We'll tell you which one you actually need.
What Not to Do Before We Get There
Skip the chemical drain cleaner. It rarely clears a real clog, it sits in the pipe, and it turns a routine job into one where we're handling caustic water. If the sink is full, bail it into a bucket. If a toilet is overflowing, turn the valve behind it clockwise until it stops. Then call.
Questions We Get Asked
How long does drain cleaning take?
Most single-fixture clogs are cleared in under an hour, camera scope included. Main-line jobs can run longer depending on access and what's in the pipe.
Do you clean drains on weekends?
Yes. A backed-up main line on a Saturday is an emergency, and we take those calls 24/7.
Will the camera scope cost extra later?
No. It's included with the $99 special and with any drain cleaning we do. We'd rather look than guess.
My drains keep clogging every few months. Why?
Usually one of three things: a low spot in the pipe where debris settles, root intrusion in the main line, or a kitchen line coated in grease. The camera will show which, and hydro jetting or a repair will stop the cycle.
Can you clear a clog from the roof vent?
When there's no ground-level clean-out, yes. We'll tell you up front if the job needs roof access, since that's quoted separately from the special.
