Hydro Jetting

Hydro Jetting in Phoenix

When a snake clears the clog but it keeps coming back, the pipe walls are the problem. Hydro jetting scrubs them clean with high-pressure water and stops the cycle.

What Hydro Jetting Does That Snaking Can't

A cable machine punches a hole through a blockage. That gets the water moving again, but it leaves most of the grease, scale and root mass stuck to the inside of the pipe, and the clog rebuilds around it. Hydro jetting sends a specialized nozzle down the line on a high-pressure hose. The jets face backward, pulling the hose forward while blasting the pipe walls clean, and the debris flushes out ahead of it to the sewer. When it's done, the pipe is at or near its original diameter.

For older Phoenix homes with cast iron or clay sewer lines, jetting is often the difference between a drain that clogs twice a year and one that doesn't clog at all.

When We Recommend It

  • Kitchen lines that back up repeatedly from grease and food buildup
  • Main sewer lines with root intrusion (jetting cuts the roots; we'll show you where they're getting in)
  • Lines with heavy mineral scale from Phoenix hard water
  • Homes where a snake has been run more than once in the past year
  • Commercial kitchens, laundromats and restaurants with high-volume drain lines
  • Before a sewer camera inspection when the pipe is too dirty to see clearly

When We Don't

Jetting isn't for every pipe. Old, brittle cast iron with thinning walls, or a line the camera shows is already cracked, can be damaged by high pressure. That's why we scope first. If your pipe isn't a candidate, we'll say so and talk about repair options instead. We're not going to jet a line that should be replaced.

What to Expect on the Day

We start with a camera inspection to see what we're dealing with and check the condition of the pipe. Then we set up at your main clean-out (or the closest access point), run the jetter through the line in stages, and scope it again when we're done so you can see the before and after. Most residential jobs take one to two hours. The only thing you'll notice afterward is that everything drains the way it did when the house was new.

Questions We Get Asked

Is hydro jetting safe for my pipes?

For pipes in sound condition, yes. That's exactly why we camera the line first. If the pipe is cracked or badly deteriorated, we'll recommend repair instead of jetting.

How long does the result last?

With no underlying pipe damage, a jetted line typically stays clear for years. Kitchen lines in busy households may benefit from a repeat every few years.

Does it get rid of tree roots for good?

It cuts and clears them, but roots grow back toward the crack or joint they came through. Jetting buys time; sealing or replacing that section ends it. We'll show you the entry point on camera.

Is jetting more expensive than snaking?

Yes, because it's a bigger machine and a more thorough job. It's usually cheaper than calling for a snake three times a year.
